I do love the numerous lovely stitch patterns but the shawl collar is short of the illustration photos.The collar on mine is maybe an inch or two wide rather than the generous collar in the illustration. Also, yes it is a bit itchy which is to be expected of a real wool item but not terribly so especially with a long sleeve shirt under it, and it is very warm. It is soft to the touch as advertised. Also, be prepared for a bit of a wait..
