It's better to apply some oil/solvent to soften the gunk/carbon on the chamber, then use the pads to clean,the pads absorb and holds cleaning solvent well..
Made of high density compressed wool felt,pretty stiff. Much easier and efficient to cleaning the star chamber than using cleaning patches..
